I was a student teacher who had an awful experience and I don't know if I can teach after this... help

I don't know how skilled or not you are (to be honest, most new teachers do kind of suck at it - we all did once, and sometimes something new gets thrown at you and you get to suck all over again and work your way back to good).

I have no way of knowing your skills or aptitude from this post. But here's what I know for sure: I know that guy is a shit mentor. Taking on a student teacher is a lot of work, many of them make really crappy lessons and seem unprepared even when they spend time preparing (because like the kids who think they studied for 2 hours but seem not to have studied, somehow all the energy is going in the wrong direction sometimes), but that's why they need HELP and mentorship and cooperating teachers.

He didn't help you. He actively hindered you. It sounds like he also potentially harassed you about your sexuality and a variety of other things. That guy sounds terrible.

The good news is, as real teachers, we don't get CTs. This is good and bad news, but you're pretty much alone and thrown to the wolves in the classroom as a first-year. It's not really like student teaching. Do you like the teaching parts of this gig? The kids? The lessons? The general work? Can you even tell? I wouldn't let a shit CT be the thing to put you off teaching just because you'll literally never have to deal with that kind of situation in most teaching environments. Now, you might have shit admin, which is its own issue.
