"Student who went back to college after failing at first" starter pack

Some of this list feels a bit too cliche, and the aggressive mindset to do 100% can sometimes just puts too much unnecessary pressure on you. The most important thing is if you are personally proud of your work, not the points, because not all efforts are counted equally, especially on grades. Some work you value a lot will not be weighed heavily and vice versa. Don't sweat the details if it won't further motivate you. You should do the best you can of course, but if you aren't taking pleasure or pride in your accomplishments, you will have no motivation to succeed.

4) Don't stay up late cramming or writing a paper. If you have to, go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 4am to complete what you need to do. Make a big pot of coffee and get to work.

However, your suggestion about going to bed early so you can be refreshed the next day while still having time to get some work done early in the morning after you've finally gained some conviction, is a really brilliant piece of advice.

Oftentimes, the reason why you aren't getting the work done is not related to a lack of time to do it, but stress, anxiety and lacking enough energy or focus. Forcing yourself to do it the night before will just mean lower quality work, or you will sit around wasting time worrying and being unable to focus, and you will be tired, and in extreme cases, not have any work done. As it turns out most of the time, you don't need any more more than a couple of hours of highly focused work time several times a week to get your assignments finished anyway, even if the work seems daunting at first.

The most I have had to do at once was 12-14 hours of work overnight for several weeks worth of work, and I was super exhausted while doing it. If you are refreshed and you just set aside time to do work every once in a while and restrict yourself from distractions, it should go much better.
