Students wearing luxury items

I know about the corruption through experience and my family. My father, like many others, had to bribe their way out and immigrate here. My extended family either profits or suffers from this system, even though it’s less pronounced now. Did you know you have to pay exorbitant amounts of money to even have a grave site and then, the companies that own these sites just relocate the ashes (tosses them somewhere with other people’s) if you can’t keep up with the extra yearly payments (thousands to tens of thousands of yuan)? Did you know that when you see a pickpocket steal from someone you should keep your mouth shut or their buddies may drag you into an alley for your beating? Did you know that the homeless network works in such a way that people are afraid of giving even a cent because then all of them will come up and press you for money too? Did you know that hospitals intentionally redirect you to departments and make you take extra diagnostic tests just so they can wring more money (again, thousands) from you? It happened to me summer before last. Did you know that my grandmother, who has lived her entire life in China and suffered in the labour camps during Mao’s time, warned me against even speaking in English when I visit? But yeah, I’m sure I know nothing ;)
