Then the king ordered Jon Arryn to bring him the heads of Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark, Jon refused and Robert, Eddard (now Lord of Winterfell) and Jon rose up in rebellion and you know the rest. But if it was known that Lyanna wasn’t kidnapped but was in love with Rhaegar, then the war would have never happened. Robert still would have been pissed off since he was betrothed to Lyanna.
