Sturgeon urged to delay Scottish independence vote until 2020s

People conveniently forget that it was Labour with Donald Dewar as Scotland Secretary who pushed for devolution. The SNP actively dismissed the prospect and notion of devolution in 97'. The SNP are average at best in government but have afforded decent opposition to Westminster. The first few years in government under Salmond where so-so and definitely not any worse or better than Jack McConnells term as FM or Donald Dewars short leadership.

The SNP where a completely different party pre 2000s. Come the economic crash Labour where fucked for voter confidence and SNP had become more like Labour in opposition.

I think the only reason the Tories have done anything in Scotland recently is because the voter base has solidified and a lot of single issue voters voted for them. Couple that with the notion that some do actually see the Scottish Parliament as a lesser institution and there for less of a risk to vote for some other party than they normally would. Same reason people vote for diddy parties in EU parliamentary elections.
