Why is this sub so focused on lifting?

OP wasn't complaining, she was asking a question - why is a sub about fitness so focused on lifting? The answer is because the current evidence shows lifting is the best for overall fitness.

I don't mean to be judgmental and I'm certainly not judging the people at the gym. I used to be one of them and honestly it just makes me sad that cardio is pushed so hard when for most people it sucks so much and doesn't give the results people are typically looking for. People don't continue doing things they don't enjoy doing. The point of my anecdote was that people who focus on cardio not sticking around for long supports what I've found in myself that cardio isn't fun and most don't want to do it for very long.

I'm not hijacking anything? It's a comment three levels down and the top comment wasn't that high when I commented (I don't know where it is now). And it answers OPs question, so again, not hijacking. The only part of my comment that actually hints at running being bad for you is an actual study, so kinda weird that you're summing it as "bullshit". Otherwise, my comment was pretty much "this is currently showing to be better for fitness, but ultimately you do you".
