Why is this subreddit so anti-Quebec?

For the record I’m not complaining about equalization payments, I just brought it up responding to the tax comment. If your concerned about the long term effects of oil on the environment then demand should be targeted not supply. Supply will always meet demand whether it comes from Alberta or Saudi Arabia. Its just funny seeing so much hatred towards oil when everyone enjoys not starving, having a warm house in the winter, using roads, the internet, electricity etc. In regards to Montreal’s environmental disaster it’s just to highlight hypocracy. Just like you said regarding that, nobody is happy about oil spills either. They are extremely expensive and the worst PR imaginable. Why do you believe it’s inevitable? My family has owned land with pipelines for 60+ years and not a single spill. Some have been discontinued and the land reclaimed.
