You said "at least there is more in that 20%", which implies that the growth on the subreddit has more to do with an increase in content than the concept in general becoming popular enough for people to make a living off of. If you weren't implying that, then you should have chosen your words more carefully.
Just by riding off the general increase in popularity of ASMR you could be above "20%", so when you bring up that number NOT growing it clearly shows the popularity of the subreddit is harming the % if anything.
especially since you can't define the 20% anyway.
You could if you didn't choose slightly higher numbers on a subreddit you moderate in favour of having accurate content. This is your (or the creators) subreddit. You really don't have to bend to the will of the masses, you just choose to.
ASMR is, and continues to be, a weird niche, NSFW ASMR doubly, triply so. Barely anyone is making money off the former, and no one is making decent money off the latter, it hasn't "grown into an industry", get real.
