Subreddits like r/justiceserved are harmful to the human psyche and actually promote an authoritarian society with unreasonably harsh punishments.

Don't agree with you at all but that's an unpopular opinion so I upvoted.

It's true there could be a tiny percentage of videos there that might be how you describe, where the video is shown out of context and the person getting "punished" might actually not be guilty but in 99% of such posts someone in the top comments points it out and many people support it. Most of the videos there are clear as day robbers, pedophiles, bullies that get some extreme form of punishment for their actions. It seems to me that what you are trying to imply is that we don't know these people's "history" and "life" and "motives" and that they don't necessarily deserve punishment. If that's what you imply then I hypothesize that you are yourself a pretty shitty person and try to justify it by forming the opinion you stated above, trying to legitimize shitty behavior on the context of one's life, which again I think just an excuse. Once again just speculation but that's my take on it.
