Disappointment: got shot down for a transfer request where I work. I've been trying for months to get out of this entry level crap job I've had for a year and a half, and move up the ladder or get new responsibilities, and I've made precious little progress. At this point its becoming abundantly clear that they'll never let me do anything else. Meanwhile, I got my gf a job at the same company on a different floor and she's already making more money than me, has friends there and a path forward doing something much less miserable than what I'm stuck with. And I can't just keep sending in transfer requests because then this job will fall through since they'll know I have one foot out the door. I hate it here.
