This is such a great example that every country should follow

It is very admirable that you "try harder" -- but it means nothing because another teacher doesn't have to try harder and they get paid the same as you.

And nobody gets a choice in competing for a good teacher or an apathetic one.

So literally EVERYBODY loses.

YOU lose because you do not get to compete in an open marketplace as a service provider and get paid more as you deliver better results.

So you are stuck trying to help and outperform for no extra rewards while your colleague who does no such thing gets paid the same.

And while YOU may continue to slave away, the fact is many more people who could have provided great teaching services to kids will not be willing to continue doing that for any length of time and will take their superior skills and ambition elsewhere -- robbing kids of a great teacher in the process.

That means the KIDS lose -- because it is literally just luck of the draw whether they get a good teacher who cares or one who doesn't.

And the PARENTS lose because they do not get to choose which teachers their children learn from.

So maybe me, as a hypothetical parent, sees how much happier everyone in your class is and how much better they perform, but I cannot go and offer you more money to teach my kid.

So everyone loses out on choice.

And again -- while YOU may be an exception, the fact is that your industry would attract the best of the best (thus ensuring greater results for kids and parents) if the incentive were actually there.

So really, all this does is rob from everybody involved.

All under the false guise of "equality" and "fairness" as history has shown us policies like this always backfire and just end up hurting everybody.

And this "grin and bear it for the kids" pay-out-of-pocket nonsense is evidence of it hurting teachers like you who give a shit.
