Suggestions on first 8-string?

Multiscale became a no-brainer for me when production guitars started appearing with the feature. I'm with you - IMO don't compromise there for ergonomic reasons; took me like, ten minutes to get used to.

Consideration on scale if you find a deal - 27" scale seems to be enough with an 80+ gauge string. Currently have an .84 from a D'Addario Steinberg set and it seems pretty tight (partially unwound at the factory to fit through the tuning peg - until I borrow a drill). Main issue for me is it's barely seated in the nut and I need to file this to bass-like proportions... If you can get a luthier to look at it, it'll cost the same as a legit file set w/o anxiety.

Just picked up a 25.5-27 LTD M1008MS - first ER fiddle coming from an ESPM2. Shreds pretty well - learned a Revocation song in a night haha. I picked it up mainly out of import concerns because... Canada; I went with the first deal I found.

Ormsby makes fantastic production instruments from what I've heard - great sourcing (SK) with good quality control given the limited runs. If I didn't find a deal I'd probably have put my money there or maybe into a Kiesel, although I've played neither!
