Suicide rates are up 30 percent since 1999, CDC says

Increasing pressure to get stellar grades, perfect standardized test scores, insane extracurriculars, and to maintain perfect social standing? It's absolutely baffling why kids these days are infinitely more stressed than before. /s

As a teen myself, it's frustrating knowing that we can "work" 6/7-3/4 pm 5 days a week excluding the extra time after school during those days where we study and attend extracurriculars, not to mention the weekends that are no longer filled with any sense of fun (just endless study and prep classes), not to mention the summers that are gone because of summer homework piled 3 feet high because of stupid classes next year, not to mention taking extra time to prep for standardized tests outside of school where a giant company has managed to monopolize basically the whole college admissions process....all culminating with the shitty epiphany that no matter how hard you try, you most likely won't into that dream school, that dream job, that dream guy/girl, but that douche who did absolutely nothing yet has rich connections gets it all.

Life really isn't good and hasn't been so in years. But I'm not even 20 yet, what do I know?
