summed it up perfectly right there

The opposite. 50s/60s feminism was led by housewives etc who were often severely depressed by not being able to do much due to societal expectation. Women did a ton of work in the home but were often isolated and only had things like religious gatherings as an outlet. If they’d had jobs, they lost them. A lot of women were deeply unhappy and medicated as a result, and women couldn’t conform could be ostracised. Traditional roles were housewives or poorly paid work, which restricted financial freedom and meant women often had to put up with domestic abuse and violence because traditional roles meant they had to submit to it or didn’t have the tools to escape.
