Summer jobs in the UP

Bay Cliff Health Camp. Hours are long and you're isolated at the camp in Big Bay.

Go to the Delft Bistro in Marquette. Often hiring. Even send email explaining your plan. You might arrange employment over phone.

You could actually contact several businesses through email. I think there's a chance of 1-3 trying to help you out.

By showing interest in coming here they would know you are probably going to stay with them the entire summer; that would be a plus.

Mackinac Island is another option. St. Ignace area is summer madness and tourist hell.

Munising has the Falling Rock Cafe with super cool owners who would be receptive to an inquiry by you. Great place and kind of a cool town in the summer. Tourist hell yes, but a fun place.

I hope people with farm/forestry knowledge can chime in.

There is a summer program in forestry here in Marquette that pays young people to do nature-improvement type stuff in the area. Laid back program and fun. I forgot the name of it but have known people who have done this summer job. It's a govt sponsored thing.
