Summer Transfer Window 2017 Complete Review

Transfer of Seasons Past

our net spend average over the last few seasons under FSG has been around 30-40 m

The club is in a fantastic financial situation with rivals Tottenham expected to suffer to some extent due to their new stadium and Arsenal spending time outside Top4.

if we assume the club wasn't fucking around with that figure of 175m to spend in this window and the fact that a deep run into the champions league means we can earn an extra 80-100m, we can set ourselves for PSG like splurge whether we will accept buying overpriced ballers next season is up in the air. I am assuming that coutinho doesn't leave next summer if he does leave at a premium then we'd be fools to not spend the massive windfall.

This season will define FSG's reign. We have been smart in the window ever since klopp's arrival - didn't sell coutinho, did not take a gamble on a volatile replacement in panic (balotelli) and managed to achieve a compromise in order to land one of the best midfielder of this generation at the cusp of his peak for next summer. The club is learning from their mistakes whether you want to admit it or not.

We need to make a deep run in the champions league and cement our position in the Top4.
