Sunset behind Morro Rock, CA [OC]

Years ago, I was on a national tour with my band in CA from FL and we had just played a show in Oso-something-or-other, a nearby town. We drove a bit toward our next destination, but decided to stop in Morro Bay and get some sleep in the van. So I dozed off for a bit until I heard a hellish sound coming from the direction of the ocean. I decided to pop out and have myself a late night adventure. The town is very quiet and still (save for the mystery sound) at night, and there was a thick fog in the air. It was spooky, but I had to see what was making that horrendous noise. That was the first time I'd ever seen seals in the wild. They were just going nuts on this floating dock and it was amazing. I watched them for hours, chain smoking and barking back at them. The funniest part was, the sun began to rise and the fog began to clear and then I noticed that rock out in the bay. All that time, and I hadn't noticed the town's main attraction until it was time to leave.
