It’s stupid how upset people are getting over this.

You have put in more energy into this trivial controversy than the people who are actually upset about it.

I'm not even a big fan of Spongebob, I mean I watched it when I was younger every once in a while. However, to a lot of people, that's where they escaped when their parents abused them, or when their classmates bullied them relentlessly to the point of suicide.

This situation literally has no effect on my own life, but I feel for those who were hoping for some shred of dignity towards a man that dedicated his life to their happiness.

People like different things, people hold value in different things. You might as well call people stupid for not liking food you like, all that achieves is showing everyone a very clear picture of the type of person you are.
