while most of that pretentious rant was laughable garbage, he made a good point about edm shows. I tend to agree that djing is a skilless expression. pressing play and headbanging isn't impressive. I have a bit of a gripe with people who DJ but don't produce - because they're basically making money without working. it's probably the easiest gig in the world if you can manage to land it.

some producers have found creative ways to tackle this issue, like using midi controllers like ableton push or midi guitars to play their songs live, and I think those are really great. I know it's sort of cliche, but humans love a good performance. that's just the reality of it.
