Super skinny, Need advice on how to gain weight

Hey man. So one thing you need to know is that you're gonna be skinny for a long time, even if you start making progress today. I'm an inch taller than you, 35lbs heavier, lower bf%, and I'm still very thin.

The reason I'm mentioning this is because it's so easy to lose motivation when you're not making progress as fast as you'd like. And as a tall skinny dude, visible progress is gonna be much slower than you want it to be. Do yourself a favour and take a few progress pics in the same lighting once a month, and track your workouts. It'll keep you confident that you're doing the right thing.

As for getting bigger, you just have to eat in a surplus and get stronger. Weigh in weekly, first thing in the morning, butt naked, to be as accurate as possible. Try to get add reps or weight every time you work a specific movement. Or just make your reps cleaner if you can't do that.

One more thing I'll mention is that you should consider longevity. Bulking up can be difficult for skinny guys, as one main reason we're skinny is because we don't have big appetites. You've got people telling you to drink whole milk with every meal, but if you do your research you'll find that high fat milk consumption is associated with many health issues that might present themselves in later life. Prostate cancer for example. So do your research before you start eating a certain way. Bulking up to a healthy weight is great, but you don't wanna do it in a way that can cause serious health problems.
