No, not "because magic" I was just spitballing possible alternate solutions because your "only 2 choices are possible" scenario was stupid. There is never in reality such a binary choice, and driverless cars will be designed to avoid those situations even becoming possible in the first place.

Go read some bloody technical papers on the subject and maybe you'll learn the kind of reaction algorithms and prediction models these cars are going to be based on and you'll gain some basic understanding of the kinds of inhuman levels of control and precision they'll be able to manage behind the wheel (but will never need too because they're design to always drive utterly safely).

Honestly I'm just so sick of the moronic "what about saving the kids" arguments from people who've seen i-fucking-robot but have literally zero knowledge on the subject beyond that.
