Superstar German DJ ‘permanently banned’ from China for liking a ‘South Park’ tweet

The extradition bill was withdrawn, so the ongoing protests doesn't really make sense to me.

I hear American media vilifying China, I have a CNBC video playing in another tab and just heard "what the communist party is doing to its own people", and I just think... why is this so loud? It reminds me of the Red Scare. It seems hysteria, propaganda, fueling dissidence. I think we're all being played as pawns in a globalism vs nationalism game. I think there's a lot of anti-China rhetoric in the west because those currently in power have nationalist ideals.

I believe the feeling that China has stepped up its antihumanitarian game in recent years, or else that China has always behaved this way and America has just become more woke to it in recent years, is more due to the shift in American power from globalists (DNC/Obama) to nationalists (GOP/Trump). The EU has always been shifting from globalism to nationalism.

Of course I can't positively prove nor disprove any influences, but I think it's a well known fact that countries around the world try to influence the citizens of foreign countries toward their own means. The globalization of communication in the internet social media and targeted advertising, has allowed countries with nationalist agendas to take active measures via influencing public opinion. I have very little doubt that there are active measures being undertaken now to influence both in China and the west by more than one side.
