sorry but this is actually a partisan issue, civil forfeiture laws mean the government can take any of your shit at any time with no crime being committed because they feel like it. For some reason even though 85% of the country is adamantly against it, conservative judges and legislatures love it, defend it, and try to expand upon it with every opportunity. This along with the issues of weed legalization, propping up private for profit prison systems, and fighting against election finance reform is why I can never vote republican.

I still can't wrap my head around why republicans wont get off there ass's and force there party to change on this stuff, a lot of independents would jump right in if they did.
