Just for those in the comments that are saying, "if I could avoid these symptoms I would." You can completely skip periods for years at a time, if you take hormonal birth control that doesn't come with sugar pills. Ultimately if you take any form of hormonal birth control that has some "cycle" built in, you aren't actually having your natural period during that cycle. You are simply bleeding from coming down off of pregnancy hormones, it's commonly referred to as withdrawal bleeding. There are now options for birth control that don't even include the sugar pills, that are designed for skipping periods long term, so theoretically you could skip your periods all the way to menopause. Just an option, for you, not for your fucking workplace, to decide.
