The word does capture that idea of self-consistency well, but it might make other people think you’re using the word incorrectly. The classic example of the homeostatic system in operation is thirst, which is generated in response to your body monitoring cellular hydration levels via electrical signals: as you can see, that’s a little more basic than what you’re after, and might give the wrong impression.
