I sure wish I could just get over this

Hi!,

I also been bitten by a dog once, and I have been scared of dogs for about 3 weeks afther being bitten. I read something about exposure therapy and decited to face my fears. My friend has a dog that does police training, the dog bites on command, and she has a thick sleeve thing to wear for the dog to bite in. So I offered to help my friend whit training the dog by wearing the sleeve and letting her dog bite it on command, and then play and cuddle with the dog aftherwards. The first time was the scariest thing I ever did in my life, but afther about 5 weaks I was over it.

Now I realise wat I did was a bit hardcore. But you can try to play with your friends dogs to have some posetive experience with dogs agian. And than maby the next step can be asking people that are walking dogs if you can pet their dog.

If this all seems to scary for you or the fear does not fade, you sould ask your psychiatrist. Please remember that I am not a professinal and this advise is only based on my own experiance. Hope you have a nice day.
