Surely at this point the world either has to force china to increase hygienic regulations on wet markets (and which random things they sell in them) or ban travel out of china. Why should the rest of the world suffer for their mistakes? its happened before (sars) and will happen again. Y/N?

I personally believe this whole situation should be an extreme wakeup call for the entire world. Stricter health regulations are needed everywhere. More common sense health and hygiene practices are needed in every society. And yes, i personally think China should have some hell to pay when we come out the other side of this pandemic. China needs to have better regulation and policy, absolutely. But they also can't (as much as they would like to think they can) control the life of every one of the billion+ citizens. I don't know that China should be punished for the virus being encountered by it's people so much as it should be punished for it's gross mismanagement. Shutting down voices of concern and alarm cannot happen, and we're seeing the effects of China trying to save face and act like everything was fine for far too long. China should be sanctioned for that. China should be encouraged to to adopt better health policies and enforce them.
