You’re in a two-party democracy

oh FFS we are NOT.

we are in a democracy where two major parties spend outrageous sums of money to marginalize every other party.

and frankly, the way things are going with the GOP right now, i'm fucking thankful for that...

why? because the Nazis were elected to power in Germany, and they were able to do that with approximately just 30% of the vote, because the 70% of the country that were against them all split their votes between a bunch of opposing parties, and none of those parties on their own came even close.

given that 30% of the people in this country are at least sympathetic with these modern fascist-Republicans and their increasingly overt White Christian Nationalist ideology, i genuinely fear that is exactly the scenario we'd have in this country today if things weren't as they are.

be happy there's at least one other party that is collectively large enough to stand up to their bullshit.
