Surprised about all the posts about no presents/bonuses...

Honestly, I read that thread and I think most people were not saying that at all. There were some who did, but most nannies said that regular play dates are a part of the job, and it’s only an issue when it is overused or abused. Which is fair.

I got downvotes like crazy for saying that I never mind regular play dates at all, but I do mind if another parent is using me as childcare - dropping off their kid to “play” specifically because they have an appointment at that time or couldn’t find a babysitter for the snow day. To me, that’s abusing the concept of a play date and not okay. I guess I’m a horrible, spoiled, entitled nanny.
