Surveillance footage of thieves in Germantown breaking into cars this morning 4/24/16

Highlands have always been bad with it and typically its little shits who can't even drive. When I was in middle school my fathers truck was broken into. We had a Homer Simpson dash thing. It was homer and he would say a one liner every time you clicked the button. Well one night it was stolen and the a couple days later I see a kid at my Catholic grade school with it. I already knew the kid and knew him and some of his buddies would go around the highlands and see which car doors weren't locked. If it wasn't locked they would take stuff. This was early 2000's. Like 2002. I also had my bike stolen in the highlands by someone I went to school with and he bragged to me about stealing a baby blue bike and spray painting it black so no one would no. He forgot I lived in his neighborhood and he never knew I had a blue bike as it was new.

Don't get me wrong. The highlands is a wonderful area and I feel safe walking around at night. But car break ins and petty theft is far to common in the highlands. Hell I saw a man get jumped at the bus stop across the street from the fire station on bardstown road in the highlands. The man who was being beat up literally ran into traffic across the street and started banging on the firehouse doors for help. No fire fighters came as the man was continue my best over the head. Right as the police start to pull up the man who was jumping the guy hopes onto the tarc that just rolled up and I chased the tarc trying to tell him to not leave. Tarc didn't care and he got away. Police ended up arresting the man who was beat up because he was a homeless black man hanging out in the highlands. He also needed medical attention and couldn't afford an ambulance. And for those who want to bitch at me for not doing anything I had literally just watched the fire department ignore the fight. I wasn't about to try to intervene then know if I do start to lose no one is coming out to help. Once I saw them ignore it I decided to stay out of it and just called police. And to the firefighters credit they most likely were asleep and that's why they didn't come out.
