March - Release of Jerrod Carmichael’s HBO special “8”, which Bo directed.

While it taped in December 2016, the special aired March 11th. Uproxx interviewed Bo about it.

June - Rough Night and The Big Sick were released. Both of these were filmed last year. Rough Night had a wide release and mediocre reviews and box office, but the staff of The Ringer singled Bo out for some praise. The Big Sick rolled out slowly to amazing reviews before reaching a wider audience. Bo posed with Nick Kroll at the Rough Night premiere, and with Aidy Bryant at The Big Sick after party. Bo was also in a picture for The Big Sick in Entertainment Weekly He also tweeted a picture from the set.
