Survivors of attempted murder: what's your story?

I know I'm a bit late to post but here I go. I'm currently sitting here waiting on the court to phone me to confirm if I will be giving evidence tomorrow against the man that tried to kill me.

I'll try to make this short without giving away too many personal details.

A friend and I were followed home by a car full of young men after we stopped off at a restaurant on a night out. We expected them to jump out of the car and attack us but they decided they would go way beyond that. As we approached our homes, they decided that they would try to kill us for some reason. They mounted the kerb, clipped my friend's leg and gunned it for myself. I was thrown onto the bonnet where they continued to accelerate until breaking abruptly, approximately 20 metres down the road, so that I would skid across the pavement. I was in complete shock and couldn't lift myself up from the ground, all the while the car was coming back to finish me off. I tried crawling as far away from the road as possible. My friend tried to grab the driver through the window but they quickly drove off while I lay there screaming. I was rushed to hospital where I stayed for several weeks. While there, I had several massive surgeries on my completely destroyed knee and fucked ankle. This was well over a year ago and I'm still suffering from that day. Unable to walk without crutches or wheelchair and receiving treatment for PTSD. It's been an absolutely shiter of a year.

The guy that run me over done a runner for several days and received bail the day after he decided to hand himself into the police. He has since committed several driving offences yet he has gotten away with a non-custodial sentence each time which doesn't break his bail conditions for some reason.
