Your talk about "privilege" and "the patriarchy" made me disregard what you were saying. As did your statement "I know I'm a guy, but I know my stuff pretty well". Okay? You being a guy has nothing to do with your ability or lack thereof in being knowledgeable in feminism.

I consider myself a feminist. I'm a male, and I honestly hate the term "feminist" because of how these new tumblrinas have completely bastardized it, so I usually call myself an egalitarian. But really, egalitarianism is just feminism before tumblr got ahold of it. So for the sake of this post, sure. I'm a feminist. There is no "patriarchy". There is no "privilege" to being male. The wage gap has been disproved. It didn't account any important variables. It essentially compared doctors to police officers, for example, and said "SEE LOOK!!!! INDIAN DOCTORS MAKE MORE THAN BLACK POLICE OFFICERS. INDIAN PRIVILEGE!!!! INDIANS MAKE MORE MONEY!! WAGE GAP WAGE GAP!!!". Obviously in this example, I'm switching gender with race. But you get the idea. There are upsides to being both male, and female. Cut this bullshit about the patriarchy. Cut this bullshit about "privilege".

OKAY, now, on topic. I think that Suzy just has trouble accepting that GG fans aren't her demographic. Her sense of humor doesn't typically appeal to us. She takes it personally, but doesn't want to let herself think people dislike her as a person, so she rationalizes it as "WELL THEY'RE JUST BEING SEXIST. IT'S BECAUSE I'M A WOMAN! THEY'RE ALL SEXIST!!". It's a defense mechanism as far as I'm concerned. As for her use of the word "slut", a lot of tumblr-feminists think that using the word in that context is empowering. The same way black dudes will call each other "nigga". She's not using it in the same context of some person trying to "slut shame" another. She was making a legitimate point, but kind of has been indoctrinated to not know how to properly state her case, because again-- tumblr. She thinks it's an acceptable form of the word. The same way black people find their use of the n word acceptable. It's just because it's what they've been taught.

I honestly think for someone like you who is claiming to know all this shit, you're not doing a very good job of looking past the surface. The fact is, a lot of GG viewers dislike Suzy's sense of humor (I personally don't mind her in episodes. I'm not so easily shaken by her misinformed faux-feminism, though) or they dislike her as a person. And for valid reason, after she lied to all of her viewers about her etsy shop. But the GG community does tend to be VERY vocal about disliking her. Of course it'll upset her. I don't think you know what it's like to have thousands of people talking about how much you ruin everything. So she just says shit that she doesn't fully understand the implications of as a way to try and shake it off.

Tl;DR Suzy would do well to learn a thing or two about feminism beyond what retards on Tumblr tell her before she takes a stance on it. The GG community shouldn't be so easily offended by her bullshit. I think GG as a whole would be better if Suzy stopped being in episodes. She'd likely be happier. A lot of the community would be happier. But I doubt that will ever happen.
