Is swappa safe?

BYER BEWARE - SCAMMERS EVERYWHERE! After almost getting burned on Craigs I found Swappa and regarded them as the best and safest site to buy & sell. Well I am not sure if SWAPPA is involved in also buying & selling but it would see a conflict of interest.

I have seen ratings for some of the staff. I have had two friends recently run into an issue with buyers trying to get more money from you after the deal. Something recently has ben bugging me and while they only charge $10 are they also buying up the best of the phones and reselling them.

My friends and I thought it was more for people selling their own personal devices but there are tons of resellers on there.

ALSO- BUYER BEWAER - as all the scammers have moved fro Craigs to other places (Swappa) them are finding new ways to scam you.

They will low ball you and of course say they are some student or that's all they have waaa waaa. Stick to your guns for what you think your phone is worth.

If you sell a phone in Mint/Good Condition when they receive the phone they may claim it is not as stated and will want an additional fee taken off and use Paypal. They will say it is scratched, has some minor issue. Swappa has become overrun with RESELLERS. The scumbags from Craigslist are finding new ways on SWAPPA to rip you off. Nothing wrong with resellers but after the deal they may try and milk a bit more out of you by threatening to go to PayPal and request a Refund or another amount off. I try and see the Buyers reviews and how many phones they have bought or sold in a short time and wonder why some have no ratings.

Don't fall for it. IF your phone was as stated email me or fight them and do not give in to another additional. Take plenty of pictures, date them and document the conversation which is posted after the sale.

Patience pays - personally I would stay FAR away from resellers but they can use different names. Try and sell to Individuals. Resellers will play every game in the book and my friends just went through some BS. If you feel your phone is worth what you post then give it a week or two and see if you get any offers.

I also don't want to accuse SWAPPA of any wrong doing they seem to have been a good service With that said I can't help but wonder some things that have me questioning SWAPPA.

Why do some resellers/buyers have zero stars even if they sold numerous devices. MY friend sold 2 and had 5 stars.

Has anyone else sold anything and then the buyer wanted a refund for an additional amount? Even though you know what you sold was in the condition you posted? or had the buyer threaten PayPal?

My friend recently had this happen and after not giving in and "questioning" some things the Buyer went from DEMANDS to backing off and being nice. Something is fishy!!!
