The switch launch is an example of everything good in the gaming culture

Amazon (Canada) definitely destroyed my special moment! Obviously I could understand if shipping issues beyond their control occurred, but they were misleading about release day delivery (the buy page and customer service reps said it would happen, and they now are saying it was never actually offered). They also did not ship out many of the preorders placed in January, but sold AND SHIPPED Switches to people yesterday morning - I know that at least some of these people that got these are in the same general region as me (mine hasn't even shipped yet, Prime member, payed extra for priority shipping, ordered the moment they went live on Jan 13).

Switchmas weekend was supposed to be a nice vacation away from all the life bullshit before weeks of super busy times. At this point, I mostly fault myself for trusting that Amazon would fulfill all the orders as they said they would. I know other people had no issues, and am happy for everyone that is Switching this weekend. Sorry for being super salty... I just intended to spend all weekend playing BotW, and now am left with only bitterness and the need to vent about how upset I am with Amazon.

The takeaway from all this: preorder for in store pickup if you want something for sure on release.
