I would agree that creating a web portal for high volume would then require bigger foundations for fulfillment and logistics. This post was geared towards “startups”. And the normal citizen that decides to create an ecommerce store should solely focus on the product and the market it is aiming to sell to. THEN, when it’s time for the big leagues, site and inventory migration should be considered. The Hundreds actually uses Shopify Plus (high volume subscription plan) and their site is polished as fuck. So yeah, there’s a time and place for upgrading when capital is still lean.
