Switzerland rejects proposals for unconditional basic income by overwhelming majority

But Reddit wants UBI right now you see - that's a problem right there. Automation happens every time, just look at Industrial Revolution.

Yes, it will happen but we just don't know when will it happen - automated cars are coming, they exist but they won't be on the roads for another... 20 to 30 years in my estimate. Unlike Reddit likes you to believe, the general population isn't ready for that kind of transition just yet.

Going to cashier jobs, according to BLS there were 3,244,000 cashiers in the 2014. Nevertheless, employment of cashiers is projected to grow 2 percent from 2014 to 2024, slower than the average for all occupations. Advances in technology, such as self-service checkout stands in retail stores and increasing online sales, will continue to limit the need for cashiers.

Secretaries - in the year 2014, there was just about 4,000,000 secretaries in the US alone. Employment of secretaries and administrative assistants is projected to grow 3 percent from 2014 to 2024, slower than the average for all occupations. Many job openings will result from the need to replace workers who leave the occupation. Those with work experience, particularly experience using computer software applications to do word processing and create spreadsheets, should have the best job prospects.

So forgive me for being perhaps rude by saying this - but stop pulling numbers out of your ass, and let's stick to facts and stats, not Youtube videos and what /r/futurology likes you to believe.

So yes, you're right in some way, but incorrect in most of the points you mentioned. The employment for pink collar workers won't stagnate or go negative for another 20 years to 30 years.

UBI at this point in time would be suicide that would bring every single economy to it's knees, so please do not mention how great it would be - because it won't.
