Sydney Daily Random Discussion - February 03, 2019

Well after some significant time spent budgeting and talking with my Dad (who has been an accountant for 40 years) and my sister (who works something in property or mortgages at a big 4) I've determined that i might just be able to squeeze into the property market in Sydney while staying on the Upper/Lower north shore.

I mean, it'll be tough. Someone who has a really irregular income like me is apparently a high risk so i'll need a big deposit (i'm aiming for 30% but i have 10% already) and i'll need a guarantor (which has been organised) but i can definitely, 100% afford the mortgage repayments without being in financial stress even if the interest rate goes up 2%.

I'm fucking ecstatic. I genuinely never thought this would be an option for me. Like, in my mind it was just so out of the realm of possibility that i had completely discounted it. I feel like i have a purpose and something to work towards for the next few years while i save up the rest of the deposit.

This is really long and rambly but this is the best news i've had in a really long time. After my ex left Sydney my life has been in a bit of a rut and even though i'm okay now emotionally, I couldn't really see how everything was going to work out. It's just nice to win one, you know what i mean?
