If you’re only leaving home to learn be independent, I think you’d be making a mistake. If you get along with your parents and can live with them for a few more years, you can save an absurd amount of money when you’re working full-time and not paying rent (or not paying market rent).

There’s plenty of valid reasons people leave home as soon as they can but if none of those apply to you, I think it’s a mistake to do it until you’ve got the ability to buy/rent comfortably.

This isn’t America. The military isn’t some golden ticket out of a shitty life. If you’ve grown up in trailers, the military would be an improvement. If you’ve grown up in a nice family home, it’s a step down. It also has an incredibly toxic culture.

You’re presumably quite young. Don’t rush into anything.
