Syria "Solidarity" and Agent Provocateurs

Spanish Civil War? Not even close. Those defending the Spanish republic were defending a democratically elected SECULAR government under the leadership of Socialist, Communist, and Syndacalists.

You bring up the US war against Serbia. A war that by the US own mission, 80% of the casualties were non combantants. Remember the US bombs dropped in a market place in Belgrade? Remember the passenger train that was strafed multiple time by a US plane?

You prove my point. You attack anyone on the left not agreeing with you instead of doing the actual work of building a movement that supports your goals, whatever that is. Damned if I know!

The Syrian guilt baiters characterize any on on the left who dont't support US military intervention as being "fake leftists." Since John McCain supports US military intervention in Syria then I guess by definition McCain is a real leftist?

To those who want the US to intervene in Syria, then build your movement. I'm sure McCain and his wealthy friends will finance it.

Those of us opposing past wars, Serbia, Iraq, and even earlier Vietnam, we didn't sit back and expect those who disagreed to build our movements. After all, when is the last time you ever heard of someone who is pro war building an anti war movement? No, we got off our asses and built an anti war movement.

I have no problem with those who want to build a movement in solidarity with the Syrian resistance. To go even further, I have no problem with those who wish to volunteer and join the armed resistance in Syria. The issue I have is the constant attacks against the left for not supporting some amphorous undefined program. This seems more an attack against the left, then building a movement. Such people are enemies of the left and the workers movement, and are to be treated accordingly.

US military intervention in Syria. Sure. Why not? It worked so well in Iraq.
