A Syriac orthodox priest helps the local Kurdish imam with the construction of a mosque, Mardin, Kurdistan, Turkey.

Please ignore all the hate and ignorance that many here seem to have. I am myself a non-beliver but I don't preach and claim all religious people are evil. I understand that there are atheists who are just as bad. .

If I were to say all men are rapists or any other ignorant generalisation, these commenters would downvote me to hell and probably even send threats. But if I were to say all Muslims and Christians kill and abuse women and gay people, they'd send me gold and praise.

The hypocrisy and prejudice is sickening.

What we need in this world is more compassion and collaboration. We need groups of people working together, putting their differences aside and respecting each other. That's the only way we can overcome the struggles this world have. It is also the only way to each people about our differences and that we are all equal, regardless of our beliefs and opinion.

Yes, some people won't respect you and wish you were dead. Yes, some regimes will have the power to even do so. But that doesn't mean you can generalise everyone from that given group, nor does it mean you have to be an asshole.
