The thing is even 500k people is too much of for a country like us to take in because we were and are always unorganized, sentimental, belligerent idiots. 80-90 percent of the country hates male Syrian refugees' guts since Turks are a warior nation and it's a great shame to flee your country when there's a war going. You have to win the war or die trying. This is not my personal opinion btw, I am just clarifying why there's such a strong negative collective sentiment against them. There's literally only one thing Turkish people of every political spectrum agrees that Syrians have to return their lands. We have a giant divide between us but everyone hates Syrian refugees. It doesn't help when people think those young guys are traitors to their countries and in response every fucking sea side, beach, coastal city town, park is chuck full of groups of at least 10 strong Syrian men huffing hookah, listening loud music and wrestling on grass. Not mentioning bothering girls and occasional molesting of minors. There is a storm brewing here.

What are the opinions of more educated Syrian folk on this issue? It's so big here even holy sultan Erdogan is loosing majority of votes mostly because of this. Nothing could shake his throne until now. Deepening economic crisis and Syrian refugee problem is doing just that. When he lost Istanbul majority vote after 26 years, journalists went into hoods where the votes tipped over to opposition side just this year-- where he was once held in extremely high regard... and people said same thing again and again. "We won't vote for him until Syrians are deported."
