The system thinks me and my twin sister are the same person…she has NEVER USED MY IDENTITY… we have very similar names with the same initials and the same birthdate and address but two different socials

Similar situation. All family members have same initials and same last name. Twin has exact same middle name. Lack of family creativity. SS numbers are literally a couple digits different.

I have a prepared statement with all names, Bdays, addresses and SS numbers that I’ve had to give to credit agencies as well as military for security clearances. The investigators often “laughed” it off as a lesson in how not to name your kids.

Thankfully it’s worked, but I also have copies of their drivers licenses and birth certificates. That’s how I’ve been proactive.

Heaving to ge reactive as in your case - you might gather the above information and keep handy. You might also check your credit reports to see if your sibling has used your identify. Not sure if providing info to local police would be useful.

I do have a friend who has a common name and was arrested on a warrant that was for a guy with same name that went to sane school. Crazy as he spent months investigating to uncover the info on the other guy and even then it was a nightmare to get the police to reconcile the fact that they had the wrong guy.
