Taking the bar in NY bar next month. Any tips for the MPT section?? Or any tips for taking the bar in general, other than memorizing and understanding the black letter law.

I passed DC bar exam in Feb 2016, failed the CA bar in Jul of same year. As for the MPTs, it kinda depends on people, but generally speaking, if you've done well in LRW while in school, you're not going to have much trouble with them.

That being said, if I were to give you some tips:

  1. Obviously, practice writing out some MPTs. This way, not only will you get a feel of what the MPTs are looking for, but also you'll get a sense of how you should allocate your time in going through these. This is important because, I know some of my classmates who could write a beautiful piece of writing for their LRW classes, but just could not get the job done under the time constraints.

  2. This is kinda what I did with my MPTs: I don't know if NY gives you scrap paper to scribble on during your MPT section, but if you do, fold the paper horizontally once, and vertically once (so that you have 4 boxes). The reason why i did this was to organize the cases, statutes, and logic based on P v. D. so, it would look like this:

    P | D

    Pro........................... | ........................... Con.......................... | ...........................
