Is tax theft?

Government spending is 40% of GDP. I think you'd be shocked what people could do if they were given that money back, without the regulatory restrictions to boot. Also things like police protection are 4% of government spending, the roads like 3%. Most security in the USA is private by the way, and do you really think we couldn't figure out how to slap down some asphalt and pavement without the state?

I don't think we would have as large of a military without the state, but I also don't think we would have a military presence in over 100 countries, and in continuous disaster mode for the last 30 years in the middle east either.

As for education, the education was better when government spending on education was 1% of GDP. Today, it's a disaster that is more about teaching indoctrination and conformity than knowledge.
