Tax tips

A huge misconception I've personally seen here would be about the taxes and mileage deduction. You can only deduct the mileage that GH pays you for. IE the distance from the restaurant to the customers address(straight line gauged). Your able to claim for the 2018 tax season, 58 cents per mile. My CPA straight up told me personal time(mileage not being payed by GH) doesn't count, and if you try to claim more than you should. You could ultimately end up being audited, with the possibility of a huge fine for tax fraud. Something to keep in mind, GH doesn't withhold any taxes. You should put away 15-25% of your pay just to be safe since different state taxes vary wildly. Toward next year when tax season comes around, if you only owe a little then you have a nice little slush fund :D

Pro tip: Contact a CPA in your state and tell them you have a few questions regarding 1099 independent contractor taxes and mileage deductions.
