As a missionary in 2006 I cursed a less-active lady we were visiting. I was definitely inspired from the BoM. I viewed it as a function of the priesthood, the other side of the blessing coin. I believed curses and blessings to be essentially the same thing. A blessing to have the Lord humble her so she'd return to the gospel. I think the cursing I pronounced echoed scriptures from the end of the BoM, that her sins would cease to bring her joy or something. After that I really wanted to get my hands on the apocryphal book of Enoch because I had heard it had lots of curse coverage, and my interest was peaked. But I was a good TBM missionary and didn't search it out online, so I never read it.

Jesus, I feel worse remembering that. Cults are a mind fuck.
