Teacher charged with "student sex"

Reddit is strong about virtue signalling that pedophilia and hemophilia is wrong. Pedantically, these terms merely explain attraction, not action. I think most pedophiles have never touched a child or even collected child pornography. All pedophiles are sexually attracted to children under 13. It doesn't mean they acted upon their sexual attraction.

Some might point out pederast. Sure, that's an action geared towards male homosexuality. A pederast is an adult male engaging in sexual acts towards a young boy.

No society should be a thought police society. We don't imprison Stephen King for fantasizing about murder nor should we imprison adults for fantasizing about sex with people under 18... or 16.

What is wrong? It's wrong when you're in a position of power and you use that power to manipulate a younger, vulnerable person into a sexual relationship. That's exactly what's wrong with teacher/student relationships. Also applies to doctor/patient and guard/prisoner relationships.

The term for a person in power taking advantage of a younger person, no matter the gender, should be neutral and equally despised despite the nature of the perpetrator.

I'm a bit more outraged about female guards raping male children in juvenile detention centers and adult male prisoners getting raped in general. If there's a rape culture, it's really how society accepts that alleged criminals are allowed to be raped and how mass media makes fun of it and normalizes it.
