Teachers at Ohio's largest school district vote to strike just before start of school year

I 100% support them in their strike and hope the school district makes the necessary changes.

That being said theae changes, if accepted, need time to be made that would clearly disrupt classrooms and teaching if not halt it all together in some rooms. This is also using the kids as bargaining chips waiting until now to strike. This strike should have occurred many months ago so that if accepted the building maintainence would have been able to get done before school started.

Doing a large strike right before school starts has been shown to turn parent's opinions against teacher's unions. Parents have plans to often have one go back to work once school starts and now that is disrupted. Families loose out on employment, college, or other financial opportunities when strikes happen this close to school year start.
