In India in your year 10 and 12 there are all India exams so examination copies of students from all over the country are sent to different schools for marking.
I was helping a teacher with calculating the marks and boy some of the copies from year 10 students were marvellous. Here are some examples:
Q - What are the uses of roads? A - For street dogs to run.
Q. Which mode of transport according to you is the most suitable in a country like India? A - In a country like India roadways are very important in a country like India because they are important. Which mode of transport according to you is the most suitable in a country like India. Roads are very important for transportation because cars, trucks and buses can travel.
A student had such a minute handwriting but as we progressed through his answers we realised they were patterns. Something like this “...~~~~.....,,,,,,_,,” (He had attempted the first few questions after which his artistic ability took over).
Another person had answered the question in this manner
“Having a good transportation network in a vast country like India is very essential. The length and breath of the country has to be connected through an extensive rail network as well as roadways. As India is surrounded by three seas it is important for a good waterways network for economic growth. ~~~inserted ~~~three stanzas of a Bollywood song - Gulabi Aankhe for those interested~~
Students in India generally assume that teachers don’t mark papers and just glance at the size of your answers and give you a good grade. These students often don’t understand the pain teacher s go through because everyday they are required to mark a minimum of 100 copies. Such things are funny for a minute after which they piss them off greatly.
